For the past 17 years the Care From the Heart Telethon has aided the Foundation is raising funds and has provided a way for caring members of the community to give back to their hospital.

This year we've changed the timing and format of Care From the Heart Day. With the support of Honorary Chair, Clint Dunford, Care From the Heart Day will take place on Thursday, February 11, 2010 and will include a Radio-a-thon instead of the Telethon. Six local radio stations will broadcast live all day from the hospital atrium. Country 95.5, B 93, 107.7 The River, Rock 106, CKVN 98.1 and 94.1 The Lounge are all joining forces for the first time ever to ensure the best of health for everyone!

If there is one thing you can be certain of, it is the uncertainty of life. Whether it is the birth of a child or a devastating diagnosis - state of the art facilities and equipment will be waiting, and your loved one will be treated by professionals dedicated to providing unprecedented compassion and care. Please join with others in the community in making a gift to your hospital on Care From the Heart Day.

Your gift will be used in part to fund special projects like the new Radiation Therapy Cancer Centre. Once construction is complete in 2010, Southern Albertan's struggling with cancer can finally get the treatment and care they need - right here at home. We hope you are willing to give to the most important cause of all - the health of your community, your family and you!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kids Sake

March 5, 6, 12 and 13

What is Bowl for Kids Sake?

As part of a national campaign, the Credit Union Bowl for Kids Sake is one of the largest fundraisers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lethbridge and District.  It’s so popular because you can have fun and help kids all at the same time!

How does it work?

  • Gather friends – find three friends, family members, co-workers … even bowlers to commit to one evening of bowling (about 2 hours)!
  • Collect pledges – collect at least $50 in pledges, either personally or use our secure on-line payment option.
  • Know you are in for a fun evening of bowling and that you have made a difference in a child’s life!

Why is this event so important to Big Brothers Big Sisters Lethbridge?

As a non-profit organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters receives little government funding.  All funds raised through this and other events do make a BIG difference towards helping kids right here in Lethbridge!

Who, where and when?

The Credit Union Bowl for Kids Sake 2010 will be held at Holiday Bowl, 2825 – 2 Avenue South, Lethbridge.  This five-pin bowling event is open to everyone – our youngest bowler was 3 and wisest was 80 years old!  Choice of dates – March 5, 6, 12 &13, 2010 plus 2 different time frames per night!
